❝Awarded first place in competitions such as “Northern European Jazz Talent 2019” and the “International Big Band Contest 2019”, the drummer Dominic Harrison completes his bachelor’s degree with Holger Nell at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg” with this concert.

After an almost lifelong journey through different musical genres, with the start of his studies in 2016, he intensively began to study jazz in all its forms and to live and love it.

In addition to the HfMT, he gained valuable practical experience in the outstanding Landesjugendjazzorchester of Hamburg and Brandenburg. His development led to concerts and collaborations with artists such as Randy Brecker, Joris Teepe and Gabriel Coburger. His own various projects also include “The Collective Abroad”, which emerged from the European Jazzlab 2019 – a band with outstanding European talents – which tours regularly in Germany and Scandinavia.

In this concert Dominic Harrison introduces his new band, presenting rather unknown treasures from the great jazz repertoire in his own handwriting.❞

❝In their joint project Poems of Eve, Jonathan Ihlenfeld Cuñado and Kiki Manders transform own compositions and arrangements of selected songs, in poetry and tales, in the intimate setting of a duo formation. For both of them Indian rhythms are just as fascinating as the beauty of a simple folk song.❞

❝DEMILUNE is the name of the jazz duo consisting of the singer CLEO and the pianist Sandro Sáez, two Hamburg musicians who are already an integral part of the young German jazz scene. The duo plays a mixture of their own compositions and jazz standards and embarks on a spontaneous and risky journey of discovery through a colorful mix of emotions and sounds. The duo’s music is tinged with gloomy melancholy and, at the same time, child-like, dreamy melodies that give the music a charming wit and with that a pleasant lightness again and again.❞

Loxodon_prism is an impromptu exploration of a big spectrum from adventurous cinematic soundscapes to grounded rhythmic communication. The clear, brilliant sound of the duo is not only due to the extraordinary combination of vocals and vibraphone. Clara Lucas and Hauke ​​Renken also impress with the equally extraordinary breadth of their repertoire. The two of them spoil their listeners with their favorite jazz pieces and songs by contemporary artists such as Billie Eillish or Jacob Collier. They remind their audience of Billie Holiday, Melody Gardot or Richard Wagner.
